Innovation-and-me-Vishnu-Prasad

Innovation is at the core of IBS Software and fundamental to our vision and mission. In this blog series, we hear from colleagues on how they personally engage with the topic of innovation.

What does innovation mean to you?

It's an ambiguous activity, a process of pain and achievement.

We place bold bets in the face of uncertain outcomes and a willingness to persevere despite impediments, criticism, and self-doubt.

What do you enjoy about innovation?

The unpredictability. The innovation mindset always looks for chance results. You cannot expect innovation to happen in a time-bound, fixed goal environment.

I used to fear unpredictability; it now helps me to be patient with situations in life.

What's your innovation process at work?

We work in a team and bring new ideas independently; we discuss, filter the best ones, and try them out as MVPs*.

Sometimes we fail, however that teaches us what went wrong. Working in a group helps, as there are colleagues to validate thoughts. Our manager also plays a role in equipping and encouraging us to go beyond our limits.

What type of innovation are you involved in at work?

Our focus is innovation in the airport domain and how tech can help airports maximise their non-aero/ancillary revenue and bring customer satisfaction through personalised offers, digital engagement, and experience improvement.

Tell us about innovations that you admire

I believe that at its peak, innovation helps with the simplest and most common of tasks. Wouldn't it be awesome to have worked on something as useful and universal as a paper clip or a safety pin?
