Singapore Airlines AppChallenge: Tapping into new opportunities as travel regains momentum
Digital is an important enabler for the delivery of SIA's brand promise to its customers. We embrace open innovation to invite both the external community together with our staff members to collaborate and develop new solutions.
The Singapore Airlines AppChallenge is one of the key programmes that drives our efforts in open innovation, providing a platform for promising start-ups and tertiary students to showcase their talents in creating innovative solutions for real-world business challenges in the aviation and travel industry.
Now in its seventh year and taking place at a critical time when travel regains momentum, we are excited to join forces with innovators in this programme to lead the change.We firmly believe that technology will enable us not just to adapt to the new norms, but more importantly,address the evolving needs of our customers.
We would like to invite start-ups and innovators from all over the world to propose solutions to business problems and explore opportunities in our industry.Last year, over 600 teams from 70 countries submitted solutions during the challenge. This was all done virtually!
This year, for the start-up track (submissions close on 30 June), we have nine challenges across three themes: Seamless Travel Experience, People & Operations, and Sustainability.For the students' track (submissions open in July), there will be three themes as well, which will be revealed in July 2021.
So whether you are part of a start-up or scale-up from anywhere in the world, or a full-time tertiary student, we are excited for you to join us in leading the change in the new world of travel!
This annual event is a platform for us to collaborate with key industry partners such as IBS Software.It allows our teams to be mentored by industry experts who understand customers' needs and requirements.We look forward to working with IBS Software and all our collaborators to take our industry to the next level!
